PLANT DETAILS

American Beach Grass, or Ammophila breviligulata, is native to sand dunes and is used for dune stabilization. American Beach Grass has an extensive root system which can weave its way through the sand for more than three feet and expand rapidly. It has vertical, green foliage and develops long seed heads in midsummer. It can withstand heat, salty air, wind, and shifting sands. Sand builts along its stems not only stimulating its grow but helping to build up dunes to help replensih beaches and protect buildings and homes along the coast line. Limited availability between November and February. We recommend planting three (3) plants per hole space 18 inches apart. At this recommendation, 1000 plants should cover approximately 750 sq. ft.* This is not guaranteed as it will depend on how you space your plants when installing.

HOW TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH TO BUY:

1. First calculate your square footage, multiply the length in feet by the width in feet.

2. Then take your square footage and divide by 750 and round up to the nearest whole number.

For example:

A 1500 sq ft lot needs 2 bundles.

[1500 sq ft / 750 sq ft = 2 bundles]

A 750 sq ft lots needs 1 bundle.

This is not guaranteed coverage as it will depend on the spacing you use to install your plants.
